Were Animals or Humans Created First?

Some argue that Genesis 1:24-26 and 2:eighteen-19 are contradictory apropos whether animals or humans were created offset. The argument is that Genesis one:24-26 says that animals were created first, while Genesis ii:18-nineteen says that humans were created first. However, at that place is a very reasonable interpretation of these passages that hands reconciles this credible contradiction.

Genesis ane:24-26 – Animals Were Created First

And God said, "Allow the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the world according to their kinds." And it was and so. 25 And God made the beasts of the world according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the footing according to its kind. And God saw that information technology was good. 26 And so God said, "Let usa brand man in our prototype, subsequently our likeness. And let them take rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the world and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

Genesis two:18-nineteen – Man Was Created First

eighteen And then the Lord God said, "It is not good that the man should exist alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." xix Now out of the footing the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the homo to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living beast, that was its name.

The Answer

Animals Were Created Get-go

Genesis two:19 says that Godhad formed every beast of the field. The most likely interpretation of this verse is that God hadalready created animals, and merelybrought the animals to Adam in verse xix.

And so, animals were created first, and and then humans were created. There is merely no contradiction betwixt Genesis 1:24-26 and Genesis 2:18-nineteen.
